About the Compare PDF
When a contract, policy or quote comes back revised, spotting what changed by reading both versions side by side is slow and easy to get wrong. This tool extracts the text of both PDFs, compares them line by line, and lists every line that was added or removed, with a count of each. The comparison runs in your browser, so neither file is uploaded.
What you can do
- Upload an original and a revised PDF and compare them in one click.
- See added lines in green with a plus sign and removed lines in red with a minus sign, with unchanged lines between them for context.
- Check the totals of added and removed lines to judge how big the revision is.
- Swap either file and compare again without reloading the page.
- Compare documents of different lengths; added or removed pages show up as blocks of changed lines.
When it works best
- Reviewing a counterparty's edits to a contract or terms of service.
- Checking what changed between two versions of a price list or specification.

Things to know
- Only text is compared. Changes to images, colours, fonts or layout are not detected.
- A changed word shows as the whole line removed and re-added, so look closely at each pair to find the edit.
- If text reflows, for example after a wider margin, many lines can appear changed even though the wording is the same.
