About the Markdown to PDF

Markdown is quick to write, but sending a .md file to someone who does not use a code editor leaves them looking at asterisks and hash signs. This tool renders your Markdown with the GitHub-flavoured rules and lays it out as a clean, printable PDF. You can paste the text straight into the page or upload a .md, .markdown or .txt file.

What you can do

• Paste Markdown into the editor or upload a file up to 5 MB.
• Render headings, lists, links, block quotes and horizontal rules.
• Use GitHub-flavoured extras such as tables, task lists, strikethrough and fenced code blocks.
• Download a PDF named after your uploaded file, or "document.pdf" for pasted text.
• Tables get a shaded header row and light row dividers for easy reading in print.

When it works best

• Turning a README, changelog or project documentation into a handout.
• Sharing meeting notes or a spec written in Obsidian, Notion export or VS Code.
• Submitting an assignment written in Markdown where PDF is required.
• Producing a printable copy of an AI-generated answer or summary that was written in Markdown.

Things to know

• Raw HTML inside the Markdown is shown as text rather than rendered, and unsafe links are removed.
• The style is fixed: a compact sans-serif layout with grey code blocks. There are no theme or font options.
• Code blocks are not syntax-highlighted.
• The text is sent to our server to render. The PDF is stored only for your download and deleted automatically within about 30 minutes.
