About the PDF to Excel

Bank statements, price lists and reports often arrive as PDFs, even though what you need is the numbers in a spreadsheet. This converter finds the table on each page, works out where the columns and rows are from the text positions, and writes them into an .xlsx workbook. Numbers become real numbers you can sum, sort and chart.

What you can do

• Extract tables into an Excel workbook, with each value in its own cell.
• Detect header rows and keep wrapped text in one cell instead of splitting it over several rows.
• Keep totals and summary rows as separate rows rather than merging them into the data above.
• Carry over fonts, fills and borders, and set column widths to fit the content.
• Use OCR to pull figures from scanned statements or photographed tables.
• Paper size and orientation are carried over to the sheet's page setup, so it prints like the original.

When it works best

• Turning bank or card statements into a spreadsheet for budgeting or bookkeeping.

Things to know

• It works best on PDFs with real text and clearly aligned columns. Tables drawn as images need OCR, and accuracy then depends on scan quality.
• Paragraphs and pictures around the table are not included; this tool is for tabular data.
• Always check totals and dates against the original after conversion.
• Statements and reports up to 25 MB can be processed. The spreadsheet is kept on our server just for your download and removed automatically within roughly 30 minutes.
