About the Rotate PDF
Scanned contracts and phone captures often end up with a page lying on its side or upside down, which makes the whole document awkward to read and print. This rotator shows every page as a thumbnail so you can turn the whole file at once or fix only the pages that are wrong. The rotation is saved as a page setting inside the PDF, so the content itself is never redrawn or recompressed.
What you can do
- Turn every page together with the Left 90°, Right 90° and 180° buttons.
- Rotate a single page from the arrows on its thumbnail, leaving its neighbours as they are.
- Combine both: rotate the whole file, then correct the one page that was already upright.
- See each thumbnail turn as you click, so you can check the result before saving.
- Download a new copy with your rotations saved, while the original file on your computer stays as it was.
When it works best
- A scanned document where the feeder flipped a few sheets upside down.
- A report that mixes portrait pages with landscape tables printed sideways.
- Photos of receipts taken with the phone held the wrong way before they were turned into a PDF.
- Fixing a presentation exported in portrait when the slides were designed for landscape, before you send it to be printed.
- Correcting a single upside-down page in a signed contract without asking the other party to rescan the whole thing.
Things to know
- Rotation is added to whatever angle a page already has, so a page that was stored at 90° and turned another 90° ends up at 180°.
- Only whole-page turns in steps of 90° are possible; straightening a slightly skewed scan needs an image editor.
- Pages are read and saved in your browser and the file is not uploaded. Password-protected PDFs have to be unlocked first.
- To change the order of pages rather than their direction, use Reorder PDF Pages.
- Because the rotation is stored as a page attribute, text stays sharp and selectable and the file size barely changes after saving.
