About the Sign PDF
Printing a form only to sign it and scan it back is slow and leaves you with a blurry copy. Here you draw your signature with a mouse, trackpad or finger, choose the page it belongs on, and place it in one of the four corners of that page. The signature is saved as an image inside the PDF, and the document is never sent to a server.
What you can do
- Draw a signature on the pad with a mouse, a trackpad or a finger on a touch screen, and clear it to try again.
- Enter the page number the signature should go on.
- Place it at the top left, top right, bottom left or bottom right of that page.
- Download the signed copy straight away and send it on.
- The pad keeps a transparent background, so only your pen strokes appear on the page and nothing covers the text around them.
When it works best
- Signing a permission slip, delivery note or rental agreement that just needs your mark at the bottom.
- Approving an invoice or timesheet on your phone while away from a printer.
- Adding an informal sign-off to an internal document.
- Signing a school form, club membership or consent letter on a tablet with a finger, then emailing it back from the same device.
Things to know
- This is a drawn, visual signature. It is not a certificate-based digital signature and does not prove who signed or lock the file against changes.
- The signature is placed at a fixed size with a margin from the chosen corner, and goes on one page per run. Run the tool again for a second page.
- To drop a signature at an exact spot, next to a date or name line, use the PDF Editor, which lets you move and resize it.
- Your file is processed in this browser tab and is not uploaded.
- A signature drawn quickly with a mouse can look shaky; a trackpad or touch screen usually gives a smoother line.
- If the page number you enter is higher than the page count, the signature goes on the last page.
